Message different. All I can say is that the one-piece gives a constant, small vibration. Yes, it's lighter, but it's also a small diameter, so horsepower gain is almost nothing. (compared to a flywheel, or the crank pulley) Some say there is a horsepower loss due to flexing of the center bearing on the stock driveshaft, but unless you are drag racing and need an extra .01 seconds, it doesn't matter.
